Summary Introduction

To describe:

The three anatomical divisions of the nervous system.

Introduction:

The nervous system is a complex system in humans that regulates and coordinates the activities of the body. It coordinates and controls the various cells, tissues and organs of the body. It receives stimuli from the environment and responds to it accordingly.

Explanation of Solution

The nervous system of humans has three anatomical divisions, namely the central nervous system (CNS), the peripheral nervous system (PNS) and the enteric nervous system (ENS).

The PNS consists of the brain and spinal cord. Its main function is to integrate, coordinate and process the motor and sensory information. It is also responsible to conduct the higher functions of the brain, such as intelligence, learning, memory and others.

The peripheral nervous system includes all the tissues that lie outside the CNS and ENS. Its main function is to connect peripheral organs and tissues with the central nervous system. The enteric nervous system (ENS) consists of all the nerves that innervate the walls of the digestive tract.
