The boiling point of a molecule depends upon the intermolecular forces and thermal energy.

Intermolecular forces are of two types: Dispersion forces and dipole forces.

Dispersion forces are possessed by all atoms and molecules and depend upon the molar mass.

Dipole forces exist between polar molecules and depend upon the polarity of molecules.

Boling point also increases when there is intermolecular hydrogen bonding.

Molecules which have low boiling points vaporize easily and are called volatile liquids.

Explanation of Solution

Reason for correct option:

In propanol and ethanol, there is hydrogen bonding between their molecules as the OH group of one molecule binds with the hydrogen atom of the other molecules. So, the boiling point increases to overcome the hydrogen bonding. This makes propanol and ethanol less volatile. Thus, acetone will be the most volatile as its molecules which have a lower boiling point can vaporize easily
