Our big need is to improve interviewing skills. This should include questioning techniques for new hires and for grievance hearings. Good listening habits apply too. So do counselling techniques to make others comfortable so they will tell what is really bothering them. If there’s anything supervisors can do to prepare themselves for interviews or hearings, that should be included too.
We could use Project Control training for ourselves and supervisors. None of us really knows PERT or how to set critical paths. Any visual charting and monitoring method would be a big help.
