Chapter 13, Problem 7RQ
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The heart is a pumping organ that pumps blood to different parts of the body by generating electrical impulses on its own. These electrical impulses generated in the heart are of major clinical significance and thus a system called electrocardiogram (ECG) is used to monitor the electrical activity of the heart. The ECG consists of waves, complexes, segments, and intervals that correspond to different activities of the heart such as the P wave, QRS complex, T wave, U wave, and QT interval. The ECG uses a characteristic graph paper having a square that denotes a particular time interval and this paper runs at the same speed as the ECG system.
