sing postulates of the kinetic molecular theory, give a molecular interpretation of Boyle’s law, Charles's law, and Dalton’s law of partial pressures.
Interpretation:
To determine the molecular interpretation of Boyle’s law, Charles’s law and Dalton’s law of partial pressure using the Kinetic theory postulates.
Concept Introduction:
According to the kinetic molecular theory, a gas particles container in the increases the collision frequency inside the container wall on increasing the temperature also increases which creates a pressure in the gas. So, the kinetic energy of the gas particles depends on the gas temperature according to KMT.
Boyle’s law using KMT
KMT gives an easy explanation for the Boyle’s law. The number of times in a second that the gas molecules hitting the container’s surface defines the gas pressure inside the container. These same molecules acts in the less surface of the area, if the gas is compressed to less volume, which makes the pressure to increase.
Charles’s law using KMT
According to this theory, the rise in temperature increases the kinetic energy in the gas molecules. The molecules are not closer when the molecules move rapidly at constant pressure...
