There are a number of effects that are caused due to engine overheating.

  • Engine over heating may cause the coolant in the radiator to get heated and pressurized. If the coolant gets heated up to its boiling point then it may burst the radiator or cause severe damage to the engine.
  • Engine overheating also causes detonation and pre-ignition. In case of detonation the engine may suffer from hammer like blows which damages the piston rings, gaskets or rod bearings.
