The expression for the area of the elemental strip is,

dA=wdh

The expression for the pressure is,

P=ρgh

Here,

ρ is the density of the water.

g is the gravitational acceleration.

h is the height.

The expression for the pressure on the elemental strip is,

dF=PdA

Substitute wdh for dA and ρgh for P is above expression
