Answer to Problem 1CA

Solution:

Team-based organizations are preferred by most of the young employees who would like to take the responsibility and own decisions to achieve assigned tasks. To be effective, all team members should have the right skills and they should be fit to the team culture.

Explanation of Solution

Most of the young employees prefer to work in team-based organizations as there is no strict supervision.

Team-based organizational structures are less hierarchical and more flexible. Team players are responsible for their own work in achieving the final goal/ outcome. Normally young people like to take responsibility and make own decision and it is possible in team-based organizations. Due to the less hierarchy, decisions can be taken easily. Trust and effective communication among team members are really important to achieve the goals.

Team-based organizations generally focus on values and employees rather than the role of employees. So often there is a favorable situation for employees in team based organizations.

However, on the other hand, team−based organizations should be able to select employees with the right skills and right attitudes. If there are players who do not fill into the team culture, the team will not be able to achieve tasks and other team players will be dissatisfied.
