Answer to Problem 1RQ

The correct option from the given choices is (b)1.

Explanation of Solution

Given data:

The transfer function of a network is,

H(s)=10(s+1)(s+2)(s+3) (1)

Formula used:

Write a general form of transfer function.

H(s)=(sz1)(sz2)(sz3)...(szN)(sp1)(sp2)(sp3)...(spN) (2)

Here,

z1,z2,...zN are the number of zeroes, and

p1,p2,...pN are the number of poles.

Calculation:

The equation (1) is written as follows,

H(s)=10(s(1))(s(2))(s(3)) . (3)

Comparing equation (2) and (3),

z1=1p1=2p2=3

The transfer function has one zero and two poles. The value of the zero is 1.

The option (b) is correct and the options (a), (c) and (d) is incorrect.

Conclusion:

Thus, the correct option from the given choices is (b)1.
