Question
Should we worry about the Earth being pulled into a black hole? Why or why not?
Expert Solution
Step 1

Introduction:

Black hole is the example of this curvature of space-time, from which nothing can escape not even the light once it enters in it. Near the surface of the black hole, the escape velocity is much greater than the speed of light. In Milky Way galaxy black holes are found in form of X-Ray Binary stars.

For any star system, to be a black hole, the mass of the star system must be greater than three times the mass of the Sun and it happens when their core contracts under the strong effect of gravity.

Black hole creates the strongest gravitational pull, so none of the body gets close to it. If any body gets too close then the pull of gravity is so strong that the object cannot escape it.
