Explanation of Solution

The stomach is the muscular, hollow organ found on the left side of the upper abdomen. The stomach has a dilated function and structure as a vital digestive organ. There are four major digestive functions performed by the stomach. They include bulk storage of the ingested food, mechanical breakdown of the ingested food, disruption of the chemical bonds present in the food by the actions of enzymes and acids, and production of the intrinsic factor to help in the vitamin B12 absorption.
