In the past 10,000 years, the global temperature has become slightly stable, allowing the humans as well as flora and fauna species to grow and flourish. In the past 10,000 years, the mean change in the earth’s atmosphere has been nearly 0°C. In the past 1,000 years, the temperature was quite stable until the 19 th century, before industrialization. The average temperature in the past 1,000 years is 0.2°C. Since 1975, the Earth’s surface temperature has been raised by almost 1°C from 13.8 °C to 14.8°C. The information of the past temperature is obtained by the analysis of the ice cores that provide information about the pattern of temperature and climate change in the past. The major conclusions reached by IPCC and other scientific organizations such as NAS, British Royal Society, U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), U.S. National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration (NOAA), and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) regarding the change in earth’s surface temperature are: (i) The Earth’s climate is changing at a very rapid pace, and it will keep accelerating unless people act on it. (ii) The root cause of climate change is human activities such as burning fossil fuels, and the clearing of forests are also responsible for the current climate change...
