The glycogen is the branched polysaccharide and is used as storage of glucose in animals and human cells. It consists of a chain of alpha glucose molecule linked by 14glycosidicbonds. It is found in liver and muscle cells. The glycogen in the muscle is easily converted into glucose by the muscle cells. Glycogen is the animal equivalent starch that is found in plant and has the same purpose. The glycogen in the liver is converted into glucose by the muscle cells. Glycogen plays an important role in the glucose cycle
