Given:

Refer to table 16.2 in the textbook for the value of Ka.

The value of Ka for H2PO4 is 6.2×108.

Negative logarithm of the Ka value gives the pKa value of the acid.

pKa=log(Ka)=log(6.2×108)=7.20

Therefore, pKa value for the H2PO4 is 7.20.

The amount of KH2PO4 dissolved is 1.360g.

The amount of Na2HPO4 dissolved is 5.677g.

The molecular mass of KH2PO4 is 136.0gmol1.

The molecular mass of Na2HPO4 is 141.96gmol1.

The concentration of KH2PO4 and Na2HPO4 is calculated by using the following expression.

Molarity=weight(molecularmass)(1Lvolumeofsolvent)(molL1) (2)

Substitute, 1.360g for weight, 136.0gmol1 for molecularmass.

Molarity=1.360g(136.0gmol1)(1Lvolumeofsolvent)(molL1)=0
