The key
Explanation of Solution
Streptomycin is an antibiotic, which is known to block the synthesis of proteins in organelles such as chloroplast and mitochondria. This fact points to a close evolutionary relationship of these organelles to bacteria. The streptomycin antibiotic blocks the protein synthesis in bacteria 30S subunit of the 70S bacterial ribosome. The ribosomes are the cellular components, which are also present in the chloroplasts and the mitochondria. Thus, bacteria and these organelles are considered to be closely related.
