Answer to Problem 1CQ

Solution:

T2 > T3>T1

Explanation of Solution

The method used is:

  1. Convert all the temperatures with a common unit.
  2. Then, arrange them into descending order.

Given:

  • T1= 0 K
  • T2 = 0 °C
  • T3 = 0 °F

Calculation:

    T1 = 0 K

    ° F = 9/5 (K - 273) + 32

    So, T1 = 0K = -459.4 ° F

    T2 = 0 ° C

    ° F = 9/5 (° C) + 32

    T2 = 32 ° F

    T3 = 0 ° F

    Arranging from higher to lowest we get:

    T2 > T3>T1

Conclusion:

Thus, order of temperatures from highest to lowest is T2 > T3>T1
