Summary Introduction

Chytridiomycota which are also called chytrids contain unusual motile spores called zoospores. These zoospores are flagellated and differentiate the members of chytridiomycota from rest members of fungi. Chytrids may occur singly or may form colonies on hyphae. The members of chytridiomycota are both free living which can degrade organic materials and behave as parasites of plants, animals and protists.
