Chapter 19.5, Problem 1QC
Summary Introduction

To review:

The purpose of vascular spasm in hemostasis.

Introduction:

Hemostasis is the process by which bleeding is stopped. This means keeping blood within the damaged blood vessel. It is opposite to hemorrhage. It is also regarded as the first stage of wound healing. There are fivestages of hemostasis, namely, vascular spasm, the formation of platelets plug, coagulation of blood, clot retraction, and clot dissolution.

Blurred answer
Students have asked these similar questions
What purpose does vascular spasm serve in the process of hemostasis?
Along with platelet plug formation, which two mechanisms contribute to hemostasis?
How do platelets and factors of the clotting cascade contribute to hemostasis?
