Which type of light is the most likely to cause burns? Why?

To determine

The type of light most likely to cause burns.

Explanation of Solution

The type of light most likely to cause burns is Infrared light and Ultraviolet light. Both the lights cannot be seen with bare eyes. They cause burning of skin and eyes. The most dangerous light is Ultraviolet light because it can neither be seen nor be felt as heat. The most common area that is burnedby ultraviolet light is neck and the wrist. When the welders do not use gauntlet-type welding gloves, their wrist is not protected and because of closeness to the arc, the wrist can be burned very quickly. Ultraviolet light can easily pass through loosely woven, thin and light clothes and damaged or poorly maintained arc welding helmets...
