Deposition efficiency is defined as the amount of raw electrode deposited in the weld metal. Deposition efficiency is 100% if the entire amount is deposited.
Some amount of electrode is lost as slag, spatter and fume. Some electrode stub end also unused. So, the net amount of the deposited electrode is known as deposition efficiency.
50% deposition efficiency means the half of the electrode is used and half electrode is wasted. That means the amount of electrode deposited on the weld is only 50%.
