Amoeba is a microscopic unicellular protozoan of the class Amoebida. They are identified as being able to form non-permanent cytoplasmic extensions that are termed as pseudopodia, they helps in their locomotion. Amoeboid movement is considered the most primitive one. Every amoeba contains a small amount of jelly-like cytoplasm, separated into a thin outer plasma membrane and a rigid base.
