Hydrocarbons are formed by hydrogen and carbon. Hydrocarbons are classified into two categories. The two types of hydrocarbons are saturated hydrocarbons and unsaturated hydrocarbons. A saturated hydrocarbon contains only single-single bonds, whereas an unsaturated hydrocarbon contains a single carbon-carbon bond as well as multiple carbon-carbon bond that is double or triple bonds.
