Explanation of Solution
Aromatic compounds are known for their aroma or scent. They have delocalized electrons and p-orbitals perpendicular to each other. Molecules with this kind of structure trigger the receptors in our nose and bind with them. All molecules cannot fit the receptors. These fits and hence we can smell them.
Aromatic hydrocarbons and some non aromatic like esters trigger our senses for smell.
