Benefits property:

If the query range contains only few tuples, then each query is executed quickly on a single disk. This allows the parallel execution of queries and leads to the reduced overhead on multiple disks.

Drawbacks:

If the query range has many tuples, every query required long time to execute as there is no parallelism within its execution. Some disks become hot-spots and thus increases the response time.
