Chapter 21, Problem 8SQ
Summary Introduction
Concept Introduction: Ciliates are a diverse group of heterotrophs that live anywhere there is water. Macronucleus and micronucleus are the two types of nucleus present in cilia. The macronucleus is a large polyploidy nucleus that controls the daily function. In the asexual reproduction of ciliates, the macronucleus undergoes mitosis division. The micronucleus is the smaller nucleus that functions in the sexual reproduction.
