The possible measure of a species’ evolutionary success is the number of descendant species it produces. The species of Homo sapiens should be considered successful under this definition.

Introduction:

The Homo sapiens is the only surviving human species. The extinct species of the genus Homo is the Homo erectus, who had survived approximately 1.9-0.4 million years ago. The Homo sapiens are termed as “anatomically modern humans” to distinguish them from the varieties of archaic human species which have become extinct.
