Introduction: In 1969, Robert Harding Whittaker proposed a classification system with five kingdoms (Protista, Fungi, Plantae, Monera, and Animalia) based on the structure of cells and the way organisms obtain nutrition from their surroundings. Carl Woese and his colleagues in 1977 proposed a three-domain biological classification. This classification divides organisms into Archaea, Eukarya, and Bacteria domains.
