Introduction:

The electrons present in the outermost shell in an atom are called valence electrons and the shell is called the valence shell. These electrons determine the chemical activity of an atom or element. An atom with a complete valence shell is chemically stable. In order to complete their valence shells, atoms combine together to form chemical bonds by transferring or sharing the electrons.
