Concept introduction

The genitourinary tract involves two different organ systems: the urinary system, and the genital system. The urinary system organs include paired kidney, a pair of ureters, urinary bladder and urethra. The main function of the kidney is to remove the waste product from the blood and helps in the regulation of blood pressure, volume, and ion level. The main function of the genital system is a reproduction. Thus, the genital system is also called the reproductive system.
