Chapter 2.4, Problem 1SB
Summary Introduction
To review:
The properties of water based on the hydrogen bonding between water molecules.
Introduction:
Hydrogen bonds are weak forces of attraction that are formed between a hydrogen atom and atoms of small electronegative atoms such as nitrogen, oxygen, and fluorine. Sharing or electron transfer is not involved between the atoms that form hydrogen bonds. A water molecule contains two hydrogen and oxygen atoms. The polar covalent bonds are formed between hydrogen and oxygen atom with oxygen being common to both hydrogens.
