Summary Introduction

To write:

To label: the different parts of the flower, which illustrates a typical flower structure.

Introduction:

Flowers are the sexual organs of angiosperms. The typical flower produces structures that are male as well as female.

Explanation of Solution

A typical flower contains different parts which help in the reproduction of angiosperms. It produces male as well as female gametes. Pollen contains the male gametes. The male gametes are found in the pollen which is produced in a structure called anthers on the stamen. Female gametes are found in structures called ovules and are produced in one or more chambers, called the ovary, of a flower's female reproductive organ, the carpel. Pollen delivered from other flowers collects on the stigma, a sticky pad on the top of a carpel. A flower's petals are adapted to facilitate pollination. A developing flower is enclosed in protective, modified leaves called sepals.

The different parts of a typical flower are labeled below-
