Summary Introduction

To review:

The modern levels of carbon dioxide and oxygen, as compared to the levels when they first came to exist.

Introduction:

The formation of Earth took place around 4.6 billion years ago. The asteroid impacts were at a peak after the earth’s formation but then started decreasing subsequently. The asteroid impacts ceased to be of consequence around 3.7 billion ago. As the asteroid impact decreased, the level of oxygen (O2) started increasing. The decrease in the impact of asteroid played a crucial role in the origin of life. The plausibility of life increased when the impact of asteroid diminished.
