Introduction:
The urinary tract includes kidneys, urethra, ureter, and the urinary bladder. Infections in any part of the urinary tract are termed as urinary tract infections. They are usually caused by a uropathogenic Escherichia coli but in some cases also by Staphylococcus, Pseudomonas, and Enterobacter. The bacteria causing urinary tract infection are introduced by four main routes, infection through the urethra, kidney infection, infection from the kidney to the bladder, and ascending infection to the kidney.
