The sky of the Earth is adorned with the stars. A group of stars is found in a same pattern in the night sky for a period of time.

A group of stars in the sky connected with by imaginary lines are called constellations. Astronomers grouped the stars in the night sky and named them to identify them. Greek and Arabian astronomers pioneered in the astronomy.

There are about 88 official constellations. The stars in the constellations do not have connections among themselves with some exceptions and they are located from the sun at different distances.
