Platforming framing is defined as the type of framing which is used in construction for the creation of a platform for framings.

The major components of platform framing are given below.

  1. Rafter − It is the inclined member in the structure which supports the load from roofs
  2. Ceiling joists − It is a horizontal member that provides resistance to the spreading of the rafters in an outward direction.
  3. Footing −It is the foundation provided for platform framing.
  4. Floor joist − It is a structural member which is repetitively used for supporting the subfloor.
  5. Studs − It is the vertical member of the wall generally of size 2×4 or 2×6 .
  6. Roof sheathing − It is the components that are used for covering the member of the structure.

The advantages of platform framing are given below.
