Chapter 27.5, Problem 1TYK
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Those animals that have a backbone are termed as ‘vertebrate’. Vertebrates are the supreme species in the ‘animal kingdom’ with the backbone.

All the vertebrates with hair, mammary glands are termed as ‘mammals’. They are separated into three clades (Placentals, Marsupials, and Monotremes). All the female mammals produce milk, are warm-blooded. They have fur, brain, and unique jaw structure.

A class (named Mammalia) of higher vertebrates (like marsupials, placentals or monotremes) is a warm-blooded animal. Mammals nourish their young ones with milk secreted by the gland named mammary glands. They have the skin generally more or less covered with hair.
