The effect of sudden increase in light and air movement on a patch of moss habitat, which is acclimatized to grow in a moist and shaded froest floor in a grove of coast redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens).

Introduction:

Mosses are specialized group of small flowerless, spore producing plants which grows in dense green clumps and mostly in damp and shady locations. The plants are composed of simple leaves usually one cell thick, which are attached to the stem. Mosses can be classified on the basis of areas where they are growing, basically the areas consists exposed mineral soil, acid soil, calcareous soil, tree trunk bases, tree branches or in bogs.
