To determine: The name of the compound Rb2O .

Name of the compound is Rubidium oxide.

The given compound consists of two Rubidium cation (2Rb+) and one Oxide anion (O2-) . The positive charge present on two Rubidium ion is neutralized with two negative charges present on Oxygen anion.

Hence, the name of the compound is Rubidium oxide

To determine: The name of the compound CaS .

Name of the compound is Calcium sulfide.

The given compound consists of one Calcium cation (Ca2+) and one Sulfide anion (S2) . The two positive charges present on one Calcium cation is neutralized with two negative charges present on one Sulfide anion.

Hence, the name of the compound is Calcium Sulfide.

Name of the compound is Aluminum iodide.

The given compound consists of one Aluminum cation (Al3+) and three Iodide anion (3I) . The three positive charges present on one Aluminum cation is neutralized with one negative charge present on three iodide anion.

Hence, the name of the compound is Aluminum iodide.

To determine: The formula of the compound Strontium fluoride.

Formula of the compound is “ SrF2 ”.

The given compound consists of Strontium cation and fluoride anion. As the name of the compound is starting with Strontium so the cation is Sr and the name is ending with the term “-ide” which shows that fluorine is anion here.

Strontium is present in the second group in the periodic table so by losing two electrons it gets stabilized. Therefore, it becomes Sr2+ while Fluorine is present in the 17th group in the periodic table; so by gaining one electron it acquires stabilization
