The difference and similarity between atomic mass and molar mass are to be explained.

Concept introduction:

Atomic mass is defined as the mass of a single atom of an element. The unit of atomic mass is atomic mass unit.

Molar mass is the mass of one mole of an element or atom or molecule. The unit of molar mass is grams per mole.

Explanation of Solution

An atom has three basic components, namely proton, which is a positively charged particle, neutron, which is a non-charged particle, and electron, which is a negatively charged particle. Proton and neutron have a large size and are present at the center of the atom. Atomic mass is calculated by adding the number of protons and neutrons. The number of electrons is not to be calculated because of its small size. Atomic mass is equal to the total of the individual particle mass of an atom.

But, molar mass is the total mass of one mole of a substance in grams for all the atoms. Eventually, one mole is equal to 6
