Given information: Mass of pure gold ring 17 g.

The number of moles of gold is calculated as:

Molar mass of gold = 197 g/mol (from periodic table)197 g of gold contains = 1 mole17 g of gold contains = 1 mole197 g ×17g                                  = 0.086 mole

Hence, the number of moles of gold is 0.086 mole.

The number of atoms in 0.086 mole of gold is calculated as:
