Barium hydroxide react with nitric acid which yields the Barium nitrate and water, the unbalanced equation is given below using correct molecular formula,

  

Balance the nitrogen atom in the given equation, when balancing the equation, we should not alter the subscripts and we can change coefficients.  There are two nitrogen atoms in the right side and one nitrogen in the left side.  Two molecule of nitric acid is added to the left side of the reaction.  Therefore according to the nitrogen atom the balanced equation is given below.
