Explanation

Due to the axial tilt of the Earth, different regions on the Earth receive different degrees of insolation. It is known that the solar radiations fall directly over the equator, and hence this region receives 10000 of the insolation (as indicated by Figure 3.4 of the Chapter 3).

Accordingly, 30 latitude region on the Earth would be receiving nearly 8700 of the insolation, and 60 latitude would receive about 5000 of the insolation
