Explanation of Solution
Mechanical assembly is a method used to join two or more different materials together to form a structure or system.
In mechanical assembly, the mechanical fastening method is used to joint two or more metal parts together that allows for disassembly (e.g., bolts, nuts, and screws), whereas other methods of assembly such as welding, brazing, soldering and adhesive bonding use a filler material which is heated to rise its melting temperature to permanently join materials.
The main reason for preferring mechanical assembly operation than any other methods of assembly is,
- Ease of assembly, and
- Ease of disassembly.
