Each level of biological organization has emergent properties that arise from the interaction of its component parts. For example, cells have a capacity for inheritance that molecules making up the cell do not. What are some emergent properties of specific types of tissues?

Summary Introduction

To determine: Some emergent properties of specific tissue types.

Concept introduction: Living things undergo many levels of biological organization. Smaller components combine together to create a much higher complex system. The properties that are possessed by a group or complex system but are not present in the individuals are called emergent properties.

For example, inheritance is the property of all cells, but the molecules that form the cells do not have this property.

Explanation
The different levels of biological organization possess emergent properties that begin from the interaction of various component parts. In the biological organization, the living things are arranged from the simpler to more complex system. It involves organelle, cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, organisms, populations, communities, ecosystem, and biosphere that are the most complex system.

A group of cells constitutes the tissue. The body tissues contain a group of specialized cells that can organize as organs. They have the same structure that can perform a particular function. In a human body, there involves 4 main types of tissues namely Muscle tissue, connective tissue, epithelial tissue, and nervous tissue.

Some of the emergent properties possessed by specific tissue types are as follows:

  • Epithelial tissue-This type of tissue helps to prevent mechanical injury, pathogens, and fluid loss due to the tight package of cells...
