The steps of engineering design process are described below:

  • Recognizing the need for a product or a service: There are large number of products and service current in use. Before going to invent or modifying the product, the actually need for that product will be analyzed in this step.
  • Problem definition and understanding: It is very important step in the design process. In this step actual problem of the situation will be analyzed in order to find the appropriate solution.
  • Research and preparation: In this step, lots of research and preparation will be done to find the solution for the problem. The intense research in one issue will provide the solution easier. For example, we can give a new product as a solution by doing small changes in the existing product.
  • Conceptualization: In this phase of design, the engineer would find some ideas and concepts that could provide reasonable solution to the problem...
