Explanation of Solution

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs shows that individuals give priority to survival needs first, social needs as second, and needs for esteem and purpose of life as third. The following is the hierarchy of needs Physiological needsàSafety needsà Belongingness and love needsà Esteem needs à Self-actualization needs à Self-transcendence needs. An individual feels hungry when there is a need for food. The need for food is physiological needs, a basic survival need. The desire to kiss is the sense of belongingness that falls in the rank of belongingness and love needs, only if the survival needs are satisfied. The individual seeks the next set of needs, the safety needs. After safety needs are satisfied, then the individual seeks belongingness and love needs. Therefore, hunger comes first and then the need to kiss.
