Explanation

The capillary action is defined as the force acts on the meniscus of liquid. When the adhesion force is greater than the cohesion force, the liquid climbs up the walls due this capillary action.

The brazing process is carried out at the temperature above 450oC and the parts to be joined are kept at the very close distance. The distance between the parts is generally 0.4 mm to 0.6 mm. The small spacing ensures that the liquid metal seeps inside the small spacing through capillary action.
