Chapter 36, Problem 7TYU
Summary Introduction
Introduction: The underground branching root systems are often more extensive than aerial part of the plant. The extension of root depth and spread of a plant differs for another plant species, and it also varies among individuals of the same species. For the survival of plant, firm anchorage is essential, so that the stem remains upright that enables leaves to absorb sunlight efficiently. The roots absorb water and dissolved minerals. The dissolved minerals are transported from roots to the leaves throughout the plant in the xylem.
