Introduction: The tight junctions are present in the epithelial cells which help to seal the cells in the narrow band below the apical surface. These tight junctions consist of various types of proteins like adhesions, claudins and so on. They help in preventing any leakage or flow of ions apart from the selectively movable ions across the membrane of the cells.
