To examine: Whether the statement “Changes in gene functions related to the inadequate fetal supply of glucose in utero tend to decrease the risk that offspring will become obese in adulthood” is true or false.

Introduction: Intrauterine nutrient and energy availability can alter fetal gene expressions. In adverse condition, these changes ensure the survival of the fetus. However, later in life these changes can alter the activity of certain metabolic pathways and are associated with increased disease risk.
